Roof restoration is a comprehensive process that revitalises your existing roof without the need for a full replacement. It typically involves roof inspections, repairs, high-pressure cleaning, and the application of protective coatings to restore the roof’s condition and improve its overall durability. Restoration is more cost-effective than a complete reroof and is ideal for homeowners who want to protect their investment, improve street appeal, and increase the value of their property.
Many Central Coast homes are exposed to harsh weather conditions, including strong sun, coastal winds, and heavy rain. Over time, this can lead to cracked tiles, faded paint, moss and lichen build-up, and leaks. Roof restoration offers the following benefits:
Restoration addresses wear and damage early, protecting your roof from the elements and significantly extending its lifespan without the need for a full replacement.
A restored roof instantly refreshes your home’s exterior, removing stains, moss, and fading to create a clean, modern look that boosts your property’s street presence.
A well-maintained roof enhances buyer confidence, increases property value, and improves saleability—making it a smart investment if you're planning to sell or lease.
Fixing minor issues now prevents them from becoming major, costly repairs down the track. Restoration saves money and protects your home’s structure long-term.
Modern roof coatings reflect sunlight and reduce heat absorption, helping to keep your home cooler in summer and potentially lowering your energy costs.
Every roof is different, and this step allows us to assess its current condition and determine the most effective restoration approach. We check for: damaged or cracked tiles, leaks and water damage, faded or flaking coatings, rust and corrosion (for metal roofs), deteriorated ridge capping or pointing.
Before any cleaning or coatings are applied, we carry out all necessary roof repairs. Common repairs may include: replacing broken or cracked tiles, fixing minor leaks, repairing or replacing flashing, re-bedding ridge caps (if required).
We then use industrial-grade high-pressure cleaning equipment to remove dirt, moss, lichen, and any other contaminants from your roof’s surface. This step is crucial for creating a clean surface that allows the new coatings to bond properly.
After the pressure cleaning is complete, we re-point the ridge caps using a flexible pointing compound. Doing this after cleaning ensures the new pointing is not damaged or washed away during the high-pressure process.
To avoid overspray and ensure a tidy finish, we carefully cover all surrounding features such as: solar panels, skylights, solar hot water systems, gable ends, windows and external walls.
We apply premium roof coatings:
1 coat of Shield Coat High Build Primer – This primer prepares the surface and ensures strong adhesion of the membrane.
2 coats of Shield Coat Roof Membrane – A high-performance, weather-resistant coating that restores the colour, enhances durability, and offers long-term protection from UV and moisture damage.
Once all coatings are dry, we remove any masking and thoroughly clean the site. Our team leaves your property as we found it – only with a beautifully restored roof.
